Premieres in Australia and New Zealand, with Magnolia acquiring worldwide rights

Following the international premiere of Life Itself in the "Cannes Classics" program at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival this May, the film will then head to dates in New Zealand and Australia.

The film's director Steve James will attend the New Zealand premiere at theDocumentary Edge Festival, which is also showcasing his classic Hoop Dreams. The dates for the films are as follows:

Life Itself: May 29, May 30, May 31 (Auckland), and June 10 and June 14 (Wellington).Get tickets.

Ahead of Cannes, the international rights for the film have been acquired by Magnolia Pictures, who had previously acquired the North American rights following the Sundance film festival.

The film will be released in US theaters and VOD on July 4th. More US festivals and international dates will be announced very soon.
